Physical abilities testing will not be offered through Columbus State Community College. Physical abilities testing will be administered by the Pickerington Police Department by invitation or will be available through NTN at the Tolles Technical center testing location. Candidates must meet department standards for physical fitness, strength, flexibility, and endurance.     Health and Physical Fitness Requirements: The City of Pickerington recognizes that the health and safety of its Police personnel is paramount to the success of the organization. By collective bargaining agreement, the Division of Police administers annual physical fitness program testing. Physician examinations are provided by the department and members participate in: body composition evaluation, agility and endurance, strength and flexibility testing. Physical Ability Testing: Physical abilities testing will be administered by the Pickerington Police Department. Candidates must meet department standards for physical fitness, strength, flexibility, and endurance. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Knowledge of the City of Pickerington and surrounding areas; police department policies/procedures, city organizations and functions; FCC rules and regulations, and police/fire terminology. • Ability to recognize unusual and/or threatening situations and react accordingly. • Skill in radio operations and related equipment: Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD); telephone; two way radio; CAD; L.E.A.D.S.; copy machine; fax machine; recorders; VCRs; Cellular phones and radios.
