The Forest Park Police Department is a dynamic, full-service, CALEA Accredited police organization comprised of 89 certified police officers and 25 support staff. We are located in northern Clayton County, nine miles south of the City of Atlanta. The city has an advantageous geographical location in the southern metropolitan region, and has convenient access to Interstates 75, 20, and 285, and adjoining Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

New officers are assigned to one of four patrol teams and work 12 hour shifts with alternating days off. All uncertified police officers are required to complete Basic Mandate Training prior to being assigned to a 3 month minimum Field Training Program. All applicants must pass a background investigation, physical examination, drug screening, voice stress analysis, psychological evaluation, initial interview, and executive interview.
