Prior Experience: Not required, but preferred.
Emergency Medical Dispatcher and LEADS certified preferred, must be obtained within first year of employment.
Successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and a sense of duty and responsibility to the safety and welfare of the public, and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Attention to detail and ability to work successfully with other team members is a must. Successful candidate must be willing to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays and be subject to call back 24/7. The ability to work effectively under sometimes stressful situations is a must. The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and medical screening, which will include a psychological evaluation and a 10-panel drug screen.
Preference for an in person interview will be provided to dispatchers currently employed by Highland Park, Lake Forest, and Lake Bluff (this does not guarantee employment).
