Safariland® Introduces New Line of Holsters for Electrical Discharge Weapons
ONTARIO, Calif.—Safariland, part of the BAE Systems Products Group, announces today the introduction of its new line of holsters for Electrical Discharge Weapons (EDW) – the Model 519, Model 520, Model 6287 and Model 6288.
Safariland has earned a leadership position and an industry reputation for “Innovation Not Imitation™” for its holsters and equipment in the law enforcement, military and sporting good markets. With a research and development team comprised of veteran law enforcement officers and champion competitive shooters, Safariland utilizes this comprehensive industry knowledge to design, develop and manufacture some of the most innovative and highest quality products in the world.
“With the growing EDW market, we’ve been receiving numerous requests for quality concealment holsters with various retention options for EDW devices,” said Scott Carnahan, director of marketing, Safariland. “Law enforcement and security personnel now have the option of purchasing a durable, high quality EDW holster with a wide variety of carry options, retention levels and accessories from Safariland.”
Offered with the industry-acclaimed Safariland Self Locking System (SLS), the Model 6287 EDW concealment holster provides Level II Retention™ and can be adjusted for preferred cant angle for both strong side and cross-draw carry. Suede lined to protect the weapon’s finish and shield the muzzle, the Model 6287 rides close to the body to aid in both concealment and weapon retention. It comes standard with the 1.5”-1.75” Model 567BL injection-molded belt loop, yet will accommodate any of the seven different 567BL options that are available.
The new Safariland Model 6288 EDW holster features the same SLS retention and high quality materials as the Model 6287 and employs a paddle design with the Model 568UBL, allowing officers to use the Model 6288 with or without a belt for added comfort and durability. The Model 568UBL also allows easy conversion for duty or tactical wear.
Manufactured with the patented SAFARI-LAMINATE™ with suede lining, the Model 519 EDW holster is available with a traditional thumb break and is designed for both vertical and cross-draw carry. The injection molded belt loop fits 2.25” belts and is adjustable for cant angle, while an optional belt loop is also available to fit 1.5” - 2.25” belt widths.
Featuring the same retention options as the Model 519, the Model 520 EDW holster utilizes a clip-on style belt loop, fitting 1.5” - 2.25” belt widths, and is also user-adjustable for vertical or cross draw carry.
The Model 6287 and Model 6288 EDW holsters are available in Plain Black and STX Tactical™ finish, with MSRP’s starting at $87.00 and $92.00, respectively. The Model 519 and Model 520 EDW holsters are also available in Plain Black, as well as Basket Weave or Hi-Gloss finish, with MSRP’s of $72.00 and $76.00 respectively.
