Chicago PD prepares for violent weekend

CHICAGO — When Chicago Police Department commanders gather Friday afternoon for their weekly analysis meetings, one issue they're planning to talk about is how to try to make this weekend less violent than last.

Chicago police this weekend will push initiatives usually reserved for the hotter summer months, when crime takes an expected jump, after a spate of shootings and homicides last weekend.
