Calif. wants law restricting body armor sales reinstated
Cops have been pressuring the state to challenge the ruling
San Francisco Chronicle
The state will ask the California Supreme Court to revive a law that prohibited violent felons from possessing bullet-resistant body armor, Attorney General Jerry Brown said Tuesday.
Police chiefs in San Francisco and elsewhere had clamored for Brown to challenge the Dec. 17 ruling by a state appeals court in Los Angeles that overturned the law. Brown said his office would ask the state's high court to review the case next month.
