Adams County, Colorado, Selects IPWireless’ End-to-End LTE Government Broadband Solution for 700MHz LTE Public Safety Network

System Integrator Partner, Raytheon Corporation, to Deploy Public Safety Network Utilizing IPWireless’ Government-Class LTE Infrastructure and Devices

San Francisco, Calif. – IPWireless, a leading provider of 3G and 4G LTE wireless broadband network solutions for federal, state and local government applications, today announced that the Adams County Communication Center (ADCOM 911) is deploying a countywide public safetynetwork utilizing IPWireless’ end-to-end Long Term Evolution (LTE) mobile broadband solutions. The public safety network, one of the first in the country to be deployed in 700MHz, will be integrated and deployed by IPWireless’ system integrator partner, Raytheon Corporation, and is an important step towards the deployment of a national public safety broadband network. The single integrated 700 MHz LTE network will provide the county’s Police, Fire and EMS first responder agencies with a dedicated wireless broadband network that enhances public safety and improves citywide data communications, while lowering overall communication costs.

Adams County, CO, who is one of more than twenty recipients granted a FCC waiver to build a LTE public safety network in 700 MHz spectrum, is one of the first counties to deploy a LTE broadband solution. The public safety network, a 15-site LTE communications system, will enable the county’s first responder agencies to take advantage of mission critical applications such as mobile video, advanced mapping capabilities, improved situational awareness, as well as, provide access to a multigovernmental law enforcement data sharing systemfor more efficient communications and real-time reporting. "ADCOM 911 expects the network to quickly expand throughout Colorado and the western region to provide all first responders the advanced communications capabilities they need," stated Bill Malone, ADCOM 911’s Executive Director.

The 4G LTE system will be deployed over the next 21 months and is funded through an ARRA-2009 stimulus grant under the U.S. Department of Commerce BTOP, managed by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA).

Raytheon Corporation will deploy and integrate the public safety network leveraging IPWireless’ LTE eNodeB base stations, Evolved Packet Core and LTE devices specifically designed for 700 MHz Band 14, including the D-Block. IPWireless’ public safety LTE mobile broadband solutions caters to the unique requirements of private government networksand provides unmatched and uncompromising multi-megabit mobile broadband performance coupled with state-of-the art Quality of Service mechanisms, real-time service prioritization and pre-emption and improved in-car mobile communications.

The proposed service area for the public safety network is the entirety of Adams County Colorado. Adams County encompasses approximately 1,200 square miles with a population of 440,000. The county is immediately north of the City and County of Denver and is the 5th most populous county in the state. With 6 municipalities and a large unincorporated region, the population is a unique mix of urban, suburban and rural populations. ADCOM 911 is a multijurisdictional public safety communications center that provides voice and data services to four law enforcement agencies and nine Fire/EMS agencies. The public safety LTE networks will serve agencies at the municipal and county levels as well as special districts in both urban and rural areas.
