Fort Pierce Police Get New Badge of Honor
After decades of wearing a generic "off the shelf" badge, the Fort Pierce police department of nearly 100 officers was presented with a new badge of honor.
The badge was designed and manufactures by SymbolArts. The new design includes a jumping sailfish emerging from the water with a blazing sun in the horizon. Detective Chris Newman, who joined the Fort Pierce police department in 1999, came up with some design ideas and collaborated with SymbolArts to design the badge.
Each badge has the officer's name identification number. The back of the badge has a special inscription that lists the names of four officers - Willie B. Ellis, Grover Cooper III, Jimmy Wouters, and Danny Parrish - who died in the line of duty.
At SymbolArts, we believe the personal touches are what make our products memorable. We work directly with our customers to not only create the best design and highest quality product, but also work toward creative solutions that will provide the best value as well.
