Bill Bolechala a councilman in a nearby city, says doctors left the bullet in his side but will remove if it causes an infection.

The Elk City police chief says the bullet must have ricocheted off a metal frame that holds the targets, and he's planning to replace the frames with wood.

Police told Bolechala they'll handle his medical bills. He says he has no ill will.
