Team GLOCK – Sevigny Wins USPSA Area 2/Desert Classic

The USPSA Area 2 Championship was held November 6-9, 2008 at the Rio Salado Sportman’s Club in Mesa, AZ where Dave Sevigny of Team GLOCK closed his competition season with another dominating performance in the Production division.

Sevigny crushed the Production field with a GLOCK 34, 9x19 pistol. He won eight of the eleven stages and outpaced the second place Grandmaster class competitor by 144 points or a 10% margin of victory. Area 2 resident Nils Jonasson also used a GLOCK 34 to place 2nd overall.

Sevigny gave credit to his fellow competitors after the match. “There’s no question USPSA is the top shooting league in the world and the talent pool gets better all the time. In nearly every division at the Area level championships you’ll face a formidable opponent. Guys like Nils Jonasson, Brad Holt and Mike Hughes will only get better.” The Team GLOCK captain won every Area match he attended in 2008 earning four wins at Area 2,6,7 and 8 and won Area 2 in all five appearances he has made.

Since USPSA introduced Production as a division in 2001, GLOCK pistols have been used to win more Area and National championships than any other manufacturer. The team GLOCK Shooting Squad will begin the 2009 season and make their next appearance at the Georgia Steel Challenge in January.
