Timothy Hardiman, Manager of Law Enforcement Programs at the American Military University, made a visit to the Shelton Police Department this morning to present officers with a Colt LE6920 Law Enforcement Carbine.

"This is a necessary tool in this day and age," Hardiman said.

The rifle is engraved with the message "In Memory of Sgt. Smith," who was killed last July after being hit by a drunk driver.
