Va: A dive, a police captain's hunch, technology pay off

A dive team exercise, a policeman's hunch and modern forensic technology helped authorities find and identify four of the 67 guns taken during the Chesterfield County gun shop robbery.

They were at the bottom of the James River.

A little more than a month ago, Virginia State Police divers dredged up several guns and other artifacts in murky, 25-foot-deep water near where the riverboat Annabel Lee used to dock in East Richmond. The search was part of a training exercise.
