Mid-Michigan Kennels to Host Advanced Canine Handlers' Seminar May 13-18, 2012 Hosted by Mid-Michigan Kennels Inc.

Dates: May 13 - 18, 2012

Location: Fort Custer Training Center, 2501 26th Street, Augusta, MI 49012-9205

Cost: The cost of the seminar is only $400 per K-9 team. This seminar is MCOLES approved. Registration deadline is Tuesday, May 8, 2012. This seminar will be limited to the FIRST 40 paid registrations.

Lodging: At Fort Custer Training Center, included in cost.

Instructors: We have invited 3 of the industries best to instruct at our seminar this Spring. Brett Titus Owner of TACDOGS along with Ms. Linda Porter and Mr. John Lutenberg owners of the Canine Training Academy will be here to teach handlers advanced K-9 skills.

Brett Titus areas of instruction will focus on tactical obedience, tactical team movement with the K-9 as part of a tactical team, as well as a live fire small arms range with your canine partner. These skills are NOT just for SWAT Canine Teams. These are skills you use every day while out taking calls.

Linda and John's training obejectives are:

• To provide a thorough understanding of basic foundation training.
• To introduce a variety of techniques used to train tracking and trailing dogs.
• To teach students to properly analyze problem areas and apply basic training to their individual K9s to improve.
• To assist in the advancement of experienced K9 teams in more difficult tracking situations.

This seminar will be held at Ft. Custer Michigan. This is a National Guard training base which offers a wide variety of training venues. The seminar cost is ALL INCLUSIVE!  This means that all of your lodging, meals, and training are included along with a hospitality room at the base club each evening. Cost also includes a Ribeye Steak dinner banquet on Thursday evening.
