Patent for RMB Industries' Cuffing Baton Awarded
RMB Industries, Inc has announced today the awarding of US Patent No. 7,029,397 for their cuffing baton. This is the culmination of several years of development and inaugurates a new era in the use of tactical baton equipment and apprehension practices. Rich Barwick is the inventor of the cuffing baton and is thrilled to see this step in the development of this product. "I knew I was on to something when the Police Chief asked how he could order one for each of his officers.”
With a background in both martial arts and engineering, Rich has the ideal background to develop this new technology. “I was really setting out to improve the side-handle baton”, says Barwick. “It seemed to me that the limitations of the standard device could be overcome with a little ingenuity and testing.” His instincts appear right on target as RMB Industries, Inc. has received widespread acclaim for their flagship product, the Apprehender™ Cuffing Baton (CB-01) – a cuffing baton with an integrated handcuff and remotely controlled release mechanism.
