Utah County Major Crimes Task Force Purchase TigerLight Non-Lethal Defense System Flashlight

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Utah Major Crimes Task Force purchased the TigerLight Non-Lethal Defense System Flashlights for every member of its unit. The unit includes officers assigned from agencies throughout the county.

HEBER CITY, Utah. -- November 1, 2002

Task Force Director, Lt. Steve Clark states, "We are a narcotics enforcement unit, and officers are non-uniformed personnel, and do not have the luxury of having at their immediate access, several alternatives for weapons as is on a typical police issue Sam Browne gun belt. Task force officers do not carry nightsticks or an asp, and generally they also do not have pepper spray at their immediate disposal. They do however have available or use a flashlight.

The combination of a flashlight and pepper spray makes perfect sense for task force use. Officers generally have only verbal commands, hands on and lethal force for their force continuum. The majority of their work is at night, and they use the flashlight continually. Having the combination of flashlight and pepper spray gives them an additional non-lethal alternative when they are required to use any level of force beyond verbal commands.

The flashlight is more powerful and has a brighter beam than any other I have ever used in over twenty years of law enforcement. It has a rugged design, and has the feel and appearance of a finely made tool. It is rechargeable and has a memory free battery system. The transition from flashlight to pepper spray is easily done…." To read more on Lt. Clark's assessment of the TigerLight Non-Lethal Defense System go to www.tigerlight.net.
