TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System Sent Out To Sea With The 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 29, 2003
The TigerLightŪ Non-Lethal Defense System has been sent out to sea with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) out of Camp Pendleton.
Camp Pendleton, CA - The 13th Marine Expeditionary unit was deployed August 22 overseas to an unannounced destination taking 30 TigerLightŪ Non-Lethal Defense System flashlights with them for testing. They are also testing the new TigerLightŪ Infrared lens and a new combination gun mount/holstering system that provides, among other things, upright carry on a duty belt or military vest. The new holster prevents the enemy from removing the unit from the vest during a fight. It can be drawn and fired very quickly and re-holstered as quickly. It can even be fired directionally from the holster without removing it. Another unique feature is that it can be drawn from the holster and mounted on an M4, M16, AR 15 or other weapons in a split second, providing dramatically increased covert night vision with the ability to instantly transition to white light blinding capability with momentary or constant switch. The infrared lens remains on the light while not in use enabling the split second transition from night vision to white light and back.
The battalion Commander's first comment upon seeing the TigerLightŪ Non-Lethal Defense System was, "Why hasn't someone thought of this before!"
