Video: Machete-wielding man TASERed in police HQ

Suspect entered the station and asked for an officer by name

By PoliceOne Staff

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Surveillance video shows police inside their headquarters take down a man who entered the lobby armed with a machete.

When Dejuan Anderson, 20, arrived at the Fort Myers police station around 7:20 a.m., he asked for an officer by name, The News Press reported. In the video, he is seen drawing the machete in front of officers, who first respond by deploying a TASER.

Anderson managed to divert the prongs, launching an altercation between Anderson and a group of officers, who deployed a TASER a second time and arrested the suspect.

Police do not yet know the motive behind Anderson's action.
