Robotex Signs on as Gold Sponsor for irTactical Active Shooter Training Event
Whitewater, WI – Robotex, makers of the highly advanced personal safety robot, the Avatar Micro, have signed on to be a Gold Sponsor for the irTactical Active Shooter Training event. They will be bringing their advanced robotics technology to the event for exhibition and use during some of the training exercises. All officers attending the event for training will get a chance to see the robot in action and observe first hand the benefits it provides. They also have the chance to use it throughout the weekend.
The Avatar Micro is a portable, rugged robot that features a top mounted camera and a unique flipper tread system that enables it to scale most terrain, including stairs. The robot is used by law enforcement to navigate into hazardous areas to gain intelligence, increasing the safety of everyone involved. It operates with a remote control and provides a live video feed to the controller or a remote monitor. The Avatar Micro also has 4-5 hours of run time and a controllable range of up to 200 meters. “We are really excited to be working with another high-tech company for our event,” states Rick Jensen, President of irTactical. “The Robotex Avatar offers a unique option to a dangerous profession that will help save lives. Something both of our products have in common.”
