L-3 Communications Mobile-Vision Launches Flashback CycleVision™ Digital Recording System for Motorcycles

BOONTON, NJ - L-3 Communications Mobile-Vision, Inc. (L-3 MVI), a wholly owned subsidiary of L-3 Communications Corporation, announced today that it has launched Flashback CycleVision™ - the only digital recording system available for motorcycles.

With its rugged, reliable, solid-state memory, Flashback CycleVision gives motorcycle patrolmen the unprecedented ability to digitally record video evidence to enhance their safety while protecting them from unwarranted allegations.

Flashback CycleVision is based on L-3 Mobile-Vision's proven Flashback Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and is ideal for motorcycle applications thanks to its:

Compact profile, which mounts easily in the saddlebag and allows ample room for other equipment

Flashback CycleVision's externally mounted components are weatherproof and capable of withstanding extremes in temperature and humidity as well as direct sunlight without warping or deforming. These components include Flashback's new universal monitor console and a high-resolution color camera.

The monitor console includes a 3.5-inch color LCD monitor, a speaker with adjustable volume and backlit operational controls that duplicate those on the DVR.

The compact and lightweight camera provides a quality picture in both daytime and low-light situations. Using a 1/3-inch Sony® high-resolution CCD sensor, it boasts 0.1 Lux sensitivity and a 3.8 mm wide-angle lens. Both externally mounted components are designed with sun shields for optimal visibility.
