Kankakee County (IL) Sheriff’s Department Chooses New World Systems’ Public Safety Software Solution
Troy, Michigan - New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced that the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department signed a contract valued at approximately $1.5 million for its Microsoft Windows®-based Aegis®/MSP Public Safety software and services.
New World’s integrated, multi-jurisdictional Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement Records Management, Mobile Computing, Field Reporting and Corrections Management, along with several additional modules, will provide the County with a justice information sharing solution. The integrated Aegis/MSP software will allow the County to share information between the twelve agencies within the county to improve community services, increase safety and automate daily processes.
“Prior to getting approval for funding a new software system, we spent several years researching public safety software vendors,” said Chief Brian Raetz, Kankakee County Police Department. “We chose New World for several reasons. New World’s software is on a Windows platform, and it is an all-in-one vendor that will meet the needs of our public safety and corrections departments.”
Developed in-house using proven Microsoft technology, the Aegis/MSP suite is seamlessly integrated and provides users with a familiar platform to help streamline the transition process. The County is looking forward to many of the new solutions, such as Mobile Computing and Field Reporting.
“Currently, our officers on the street only have access to NCIC data, but New World’s Mobile solution will provide them with detailed information such as history, priors, wants, warrants, photos and more,” said Raetz. “Officers will have the tools to help them do their jobs better.”
“We feel good about our decision to select New World,” said Raetz. “The New World selection was carefully made, and we plan to utilize the system for many years to come. We are excited about the purchase and look forward to getting the project started.”
New World’s software will help 250 sworn officers, 104 corrections officers, 25 communications personnel and 75 civilians, from 14 different police agencies, provide enhanced services to approximately 103,000 citizens in the county.
