New World Systems to Provide Indiana Public Safety Agencies with Integrated Public Safety Software

Troy, Michigan - New World Systems, a leading provider of enterprise-wide software solutions for the public sector, announced Hamilton County, Ind., signed a contract valued at approximately $3.5 million for its Aegis®/MSP Public Safety software and services.

New World’s multi-jurisdictional Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, Mobile Computing, Corrections, and Aegis Justice Link solutions will provide the Sheriff’s Department, public safety agencies in Carmel and Fishers, and several smaller police and fire departments with the ability to access, analyze and share critical information countywide.

“To ensure we purchased the system that would best fit our needs, a team of end users from Hamilton County, Carmel and Fishers spent two years researching vendors and software,” said Lieutenant Tim Zellers of Carmel Police Department and project manager. “To help make this project a success, it was imperative that the end users and IT personnel influenced the decision. If the software is not user friendly, it will not be used to its fullest functionality and then we all lose out.”

“I learned from several New World customers that the Company’s number one priority is servicing and supporting their customers,” said Zellers. “Within the County, we need a comprehensive system and superior customer service to support three major and some smaller police departments, two major and some rural fire departments, and two public safety answering points (PSAPs).”

The key functionality Hamilton County requires is the ability to share information between the police and fire departments, and both PSAPs. Local agencies will have access to real-time information about a person, location, property, gun registration, etc., prior to arriving at a scene or approaching a vehicle, as all the data is stored in a single location.

“Not only will we have the information to help solve crimes countywide, but the information will help increase officer safety,” said Zellers. “We look forward to the many features and functionality of New World’s software."

New World will help 225 sworn officers, 270 firefighters, 45 communications personnel, 70 civilians and 55 corrections personnel enhance services to approximately 205,000 citizens within the County. The project implementation is scheduled to begin soon.
