New Adoptee Announced for BIO-key and CYRUN Solution
Palm Springs CA, latest agency to purchase integrated CAD, RMS and mobile solution
Wall, N.J. - BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in wireless public safety solutions and finger-based biometric identification announced today - through its partner CYRUN of Santa Cruz, California - a $118,000 contract to add the Palm Springs, CA Police Department to the growing number of California police and fire agencies running the BIO-key/CYRUN solution.
The Palm Springs Police Department serves 100,000 citizens during the winter "snowbird" months and protects 2.5 million people who visit the city annually. As part of this contract, BIO-key's premier MobileCop™ product will be installed in all of the department's sixty-four patrol vehicles, giving officers the ability to access the agency's computer aided dispatch and records management information in real-time from the field via CYRUN's CAD & RMS product offerings. MobileCop also provides the officers with the ability to send and receive secure mobile messages.
According to CYRUN's president Glen Haimovitz, "Palm Springs PD will be an important part of a regional Alliance Law Enforcement Network that will include Cathedral City, Beaumont, and Indio. By partnering with BIO-key, CYRUN will create a seamless a LAN/WAN and wireless information web between all participating agencies".
