Leupold Duo Making Their Mark in Competition Shooting

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Laura Peter and Allen Tucker, both employees of Leupold®, are becoming firmly established in the top ranks of competition shooting. In 2004 Peter, a hunting and shooting market specialist for Leupold, won the Women’s High Power Silhouette World Championship.

In August, she added to her trophy list, beating out more than 40 other male and female competitors to take the Canadian Silhouette High Power Rifle Championships in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Peter used a Leupold Competition Series scope to help gain both major titles. She has worked to help design and build new Leupold products, and improve existing ones, since 2002.

Tucker, the continuation engineering supervisor at Leupold, began his benchrest shooting career in 2002. That year, he captured the Rookie 4 Gun and placed high in two other events at the International Benchrest Shooters (IBS) Nationals.

Since then, he has continued his winning ways using a stock 40X Leupold Competition Series scope. Recent achievements in 2005 include first-place finishes at the following events: Washington State Three-Gun Championship, heavy varmint 100-yard aggregate; Northwest Regional Heavy Varmint Championship Match, 200-yard aggregate; Pennsylvania State Championship Heavy Varmint, 100-yard aggregate; and the Washington State Regional Unlimited Benchrest Match, 5-shot 100-yard. In the Washington Unlimited competition, Tucker recorded his personal best aggregate, shooting a fine .1286-inch.
