VisiBallistics™ Technology Explained by Survival Armor

What is lurking inside the dark material that encases your ballistic pad? Over the last several years there has been much controversy over ballistic degradation and what effect the pad cover has on ballistic performance. There has been considerable debate and even lawsuits over types of materials used for pad covers.

Survival Armor has finally given you the ability to have a clear choice. With our patent-pending technology, VisiBallistics™, the designers at Survival Armor are introducing a radically new concept to expressly give decision makers and users of personal body armor peace of mind. With our new material, which is extremely resistant to hydrolysis and fungus, an officer can now view any defects or changes in his ballistic protection. No longer does an officer have to have second thoughts or take chances with the unknown. We are putting the ability to inspect your vest in your hands. You can clearly see what you are buying and how your armor stands up to your daily wear.

This technology also eliminates the confusion over how the armor should be worn in the carrier. With today’s ballistic configurations the armor must be inserted in the carrier correctly in order to defeat the rounds it is certified to stop. Our pad cover enables you to easily determine which side should be worn toward the body. These are all benefits that we have engineered into our products to give you the peace of mind that you deserve and should expect when you are protecting us.

You should expect to hear a lot of misinformation about the need for dark colored pad covers for UV protection. You, the officer, will wear this pad in a UV resistant carrier, against your body under a uniform shirt. We give our law enforcement customers enough credit to keep our ballistic pads covered or out of direct sunlight when they are not wearing them. Just storing the pad dark side up eliminates this issue.

For years the armor industry has suggested periodic inspection of your vest. Because of the complications and inconvenience of sending your panels back, the advice was rarely taken. No longer is there a need to send a vest back to the manufacturer for them to inspect and tell you if the armor pack is delaminating or moldy. With VisiBallistics, we provide officers a "self check" system for your armor. We're not afraid to show you what's inside!
