Decatur’s New OnSite 450 Speed Trailer Features 1 To 4-lines Of Scrolling Messages
Decatur, IL – Decatur Electronics released its new high-end speed and message trailer, the OnSite 450, for sale this week. Featuring a 4-line message sign, the trailer utilizes Decatur’s advanced SI-3 radar to display vehicle speeds together with a wide array of custom images on the full-matrix LED sign.
“We’re proud to announce the release of OnSite 450,” said Kris Pearson, Marketing and Product Development Manager. “We’ve made every effort to make the 450 the most fully featured speed trailer available.”
Decatur has manufactured speed and message trailers for four years and has experienced more than 50 percent growth since its trailer line kick-off. The OS 450 features solar and battery power options, EZ Stat traffic collection devices, motor lift for the display and many other features.
“We’ve been very purposeful about the OnSite line,” said Greg Roberts, National Sales Manager for Decatur. “We’re constantly talking with law enforcement, trying to find out what needs we can meet. The versatility that comes with four lines of text allows the 450 to fill a lot of gaps.”
The OnSite 450 can display up to four lines of text in 199 pre-programmed messages or 50 user-set messages and features two battery banks which are augmented by solar panels, giving it an average battery life of up to 5 days.
Decatur Electronics created the first radar for law enforcement in 1955. In addition to the OnSite line of trailers, the company also produces the Genesis line of radar that revolutionized the industry with regard to size and affordability. Also new this year is the company’s Gemini Plus Digital, an in-car video system for law enforcement featuring the highest digital recording quality in the industry.
