Team GLOCK’s Jessie Abbate takes Multi-Gun National Championship
Smyrna, GA—Jessie Abbate of Team GLOCK Shooting Squad traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma to compete in the USPSA Multi-Gun Nationals on October 5-7, 2007 where she won her first Multi-Gun National Championship. Jessie selected her highly accurate and reliable GLOCK 34 9x19 as her choice of pistol for the match.
The three gun match consisted on 12 stages. 3 stages were shot with a pistol, 3 with a rifle, 3 utilized a shotgun and 3 were multigun. Each stage presented different levels of difficulty such as swinging shotgun and rifle targets, multiple moving pistol targets and long range rifle shots past 300 yards. Other stages were designed for speed which allowed shooters to blast through using all three of their guns.
Team GLOCK shooter Jessie Abbate outlines the first day of the event, “I started the match off Friday morning with a great shotgun stage followed by exceptional rifle and pistol stages. But as I was shooting with multiple guns, I began to tire and made small mistakes that cost me some points. With the long range rifle state at the end of the day, I just wanted to survive it so I could move on and put it behind me. Even though I didn’t do as well as I would have liked on it, my performance still added some points to my lead at the end of the day.”
Jessie began the second day with a fresh outlook and shot smoothly and consistently, “With the most difficult stages under my belt, I felt confident that I could take the title. Fortunately, at the end of the second day, I had earned myself a comfortable 95 point lead with only one stage left to shoot on Sunday,” she stated.
Abbate wrapped up the last day of competition with a 200 point victory and the Ladies Multi-Gun National Championship.
