New Public Safety Software Will Mean Improved Information and Increased Safety for Leesburg Police Department (Va.)
Troy, Mich.— After a comprehensive 18-month selection process, the Leesburg Police Department, Va. has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ integrated Aegis/MSP® Public Safety Solution on the Microsoft® platform to replace their current software.
“Our current system does not meet the requirements necessary for our agency to function as a cutting-edge police department,” said Chief Joseph Price. “We needed a company with a system that could provide us seamless integration and software that would not only address our requirements today, but is scaleable to address our needs well into the future.”
Leesburg Police Department selected New World to provide them with a complete suite of integrated applications that will improve efficiency with easy access to accurate information and eliminate redundant data entry. New World’s solid reputation and more than 25 years of experience were also important factors in their decision.
“We ultimately selected New World because of the quality of the product and the quality of the organization,” said Chief Price. “We wanted a company with a long track record in public safety, a presence in the state of Virginia, and a strong customer focus; we found that with New World.”
New World is providing the Police Department with Aegis Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Records Management, and Mobile Computing software, developed in-house using proven Microsoft® technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL Server. Mobile Computing with Field-Based Reporting will allow officers to complete and submit reports directly from the field, keeping them visible in the community.
“New World is a perfect fit for us,” said Captain Clagett Moxley. “Law enforcement today is information driven. The decisions our patrol commanders and officers make are based on what information we capture and report on in our system. New World’s solution is one of the best products we saw that would most effectively manage all our resources in Leesburg. In return, it will allow us to improve service to our citizens.”
Leesburg Police Department, the largest police agency in Loudon County, will use New World’s solutions to better serve a population of more than 42,000 residents. Implementation of the new software has already begun.
