Mountain Brook Police Department (Ala.) Selects New World Systems Public Safety Software

New World Systems selected as best choice to provide improved information and facilitate information sharing with surrounding communities

Troy, Mich — The Mountain Brook Police Department, Ala. has signed a contract to license New World Systems’ integrated Aegis/MSP® Public Safety Solution on the Microsoft® platform to improve access to critical public safety information and improve emergency response. After a thorough evaluation, the Police Department will replace aging software with Aegis/MSP Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), Law Enforcement Records Management, Corrections Management and Mobile Computing software.

The Police Department spent several years examining software solutions, speaking with surrounding law enforcement agencies, viewing software demonstrations and issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) looking for a completely integrated solution that would eliminate redundant data entry, offer more access to information, and allow them to easily share critical information with other agencies.

“New World had the most integrated and user-friendly system of all the vendors that demonstrated to us,” said Lieutenant Wayne Pittman. “After visiting other agencies and looking at everything the vendors had to offer, we felt New World was the best choice.” New World Systems’ solutions, developed in-house using proven Microsoft® technology, industry-standard Windows® Server and SQL Server will provide the Police Department with intuitive navigation and the easyto-use solution they were looking for. Complete integration between CAD, Records Management, Mobile Computing and Corrections Management will eliminate redundant data entry for Mountain Brook officers. The system will also provide access to all information within any application from a single location.

“Right now when we need to retrieve information on an individual, we have to search through each application in our system,” said Lieutenant Pittman. “New World’s Records Management will provide everything associated to an individual in a single location. That will be a tremendous timesaver for our Department.”

The bedroom community of Mountain Brook has a population of approximately 22,000 residents, many of whom commute to nearby Birmingham each day. The Mountain Brook Police Department joins a growing number of New World customers in Alabama, including Birmingham, Hoover, Decatur, Montgomery and Jefferson County. The Mountain Brook Police Department is looking forward to sharing critical information with these agencies in the future for a safer community.
