Indiana University Police Join the Growing Ranks of Agencies Using BIO-key's® MobileCop™ Solution
Wall, N.J. – BIO-key International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BKYI), a leader in finger-based biometric identification and wireless public safety solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a contract with the Indiana University Police Department in Bloomington, Indiana. The University’s vehicles will be armed with BIO-key’s MobileCop software, providing officers with mobile, real time access to local, state and national criminal justice databases for information.
Captain Jerry Minger, the agency’s mobile data project manager, commented: “One of the key features of MobileCop that we are looking forward to deploy is the ability for our officers to share information with the Bloomington police. This increased communication will enable us to more effectively protect our community.”
“University police face unique policing challenges,” added Ken Souza, General Manager of BIO-key’s Law Enforcement Group. “MobileCop enables the Indiana campus police to silently and securely access information, enabling them to effectively collaborate with the local police to keep their community safe.”
