The TigerLight® flashlights won the 2003 LUMINESCENCE AWARD, voted to be the world's "Best Rechargeable Flashlight".
The award included both the TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System flashlight with pepper spray dispensing capability and the TigerLight® FBOP without pepper spray dispensing capability. Votes were submitted by members of CandlepowerForums.com. TigerLight® won the voting by nearly a three to one margin over the nearest competitor.
CandlepowerForums.com was started by Mr. David Williams a few years ago to serve the general "flashlight enthusiast community". It is arguably the premiere website for flashlight information. It has grown from a "core/active group" of a few hundred, to now over 5,000 registered members from many countries.
Each year members, referred to on the site as a "flashaholics" are able to vote for what they feel is the "Best Rechargeable Flashlight" in the world. Many of the members have large collections of flashlights and come from a wide variety of backgrounds, from law enforcement, military and professional security to engineers, business owners and outdoorsmen. There are also members from many different countries. The one thing they have in common is a love of flashlights, especially high quality, high performance flashlights.
This year the voting for second and third place was very close between two of the world's largest manufacturers of high quality, high performance flashlights.
TigerLight® was very happy to receive this recognition for the quality of their TigerLight® flashlights. TigerLight® states that they will do everything in their power to maintain that status in next year's voting. Everyone there is happy with the high percentage of the votes they received, but many believe that greater exposure of the product would have resulted in an even higher percentage. TigerLight® is very happy that they are able to produce a product that not only lights things up like most people have never seen before, but that is unique in that it also saves lives.
