BlackHawk® Products Group™ Announces the Acquisition of Delta Design Group
For Immediate Release - January 9, 2004
Mike Noell, President and CEO of BlackHawk Products Group, announced today the acquisition of Delta Design Group headquartered in Boise, Idaho with a design and tooling center in Belgrade, Montana. DDG is a Tactical Gear Research and Design Center with concept, rapid proto-typing and tool making capability for injection molded products. They specialize in holsters and related shooting accessories.
"The acquisition of DDG complements BlackHawk Products Group's R&D resources by adding a tremendous amount of knowledge in plastics, materials, injection molding, modeling and tool making from concept to first article project management. Having these internal resources at BPG will increase our ability to respond to customer requests for quality, innovative designs that enhance mission performance of our global end-users" said Noell. "The Staff of DDG have a combined 105 years of experience in designing industry leading shooting and tactical products. These capabilities will be utilized to introduce new best- in- class products and technology throughout all BPG Business Units. Clif Cook, the founder of DDG, will join the BPG Executive Management team as Vice President of R&D," added Noell.
"During Clif’s 21-year career with Michaels of Oregon as Vice President of Manufacturing he developed numerous new products and authored several patents including the first nylon holster and nylon back-support belt," stated Tom White, BPG's Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Cook will relocate the Boise operation to BPG's Corporate Headquarters in Norfolk, VA with the proto-typing and tool making center remaining in Belgrade, Montana.
