TIGERLIGHT Releases Two Short Videos Illustrating Why Every Officer Should Have TigerLight® In Hand At All Times

HEBER CITY, UTAH - TigerLight, Inc. manufacturer of the TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System, the only device that provides an instant, stealth response that is more effective against multiple attackers and drug impaired individuals; and the only devices that enables the simultaneous, synergistic application of lethal and non-lethal force released two short videos that demonstrate why every officer should have a TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System in hand at all times.

TigerLight Non-Lethal Defense System

In 2003 the FBI put out a report indicating that 60,000 police officers were assaulted. It also indicated that approximately 41,000 of those assaults were preceded by a verbal or visual threat. Nevertheless, an assault occurred.

Another report by NIJ indicated that pepper spray is only used in 2% of the cases it could or should be used in. That is 1 out of 50 incidents that potentially could have been stopped at that level of force rather than escalating to blunt force trauma, punctures, shocks or lethal force.

NIJ also reports that hands on force results in injury to officers 48% of the time.

There are several reasons these situations occur, then escalate.

    1) The officer fails to properly assess the threat.
    2) When the threat is determined, the officer has to choose the appropriate force response to preserve his own safety and the safety of other innocent bystanders while applying a "justifiable" level of force to the subject.
    3) In the tens of thousands of unexpected assaults, the officer has to have time to deploy the appropriate response, which is often impossible in the time allotted.
    4) If it is determined that the response is inappropriate for the situation, he or she has to discard or re-holster the device and extract another device. Often there is not time to transition, thus committing that officer to that particular force response, putting the officer, subject or general public at risk.
The TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System offers a uniquely effective solution by providing the officer a stealth, instant, low level force response while enabling the simultaneous, synergistic application of lethal and non-lethal force. This is something no other tool available to law enforcement provides.

"We are confident that the TigerLight® Non-Lethal Defense System has greater potential for reducing the level of force required to enforce the law than any other weapon, says TigerLight CEO Michael Teig. "This position is supported by thousands of officers currently using the TigerLight®." At the same time, it dramatically increases officer and civilian safety.
