Officer Marco Rodriguez, LAPD
When we were children, we were trained to look someone in the eye when they speak to us. When training to do building searches or entries we must work on breaking that habit. When the person in the stack behind you gives you directions or comments on something, train yourself to keep your eyes forward. This is especially important if you are the point man in a tight space or hallway since you're the only set of eyes down range. A little slap on the helmet can quickly train you to not look back towards the voice.
