Texas officer fired on while recovering vehicle

By Joshunda Sanders
The Austin American-Statesman

PFLUGERVILLE, Texas — Pflugerville police are looking for three men after one of them shot at a police officer early this morning, Assistant Chief J. McLean said.

At 2:30 a.m., Pflugerville police and the Travis County sheriff’s office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the Meadows of Blackhawk subdivision on Hanging Rock Drive. Police said that an officer saw the three men — two dressed in white T-shirts and blue jeans and one in a red sweatshirt and blue jeans — get out of the 2002 White Ford Expedition. Then, police said one of the suspects fired a single shot at one of the officers.

The officer was not hit, and police said suspects fled into a wooded creek area south of Hanging Rock Drive. Police are looking for the suspects, but they did not have a more specific description of the suspect or any other details about the incident, said Kim Garner, a communications specialist for the department.

Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to call the Pflugerville Police Department at 251-4004.
