Video: OK police helicopter chase on infrared camera
Video shows the heat generated by the shredded tires and the rims rolling on the pavement
TULSA, Oklahoma -- Infrared video from the Tulsa Police Department's helicopter of a police chase early Thursday morning shows how difficult it is to run from the chopper.
The chase began when an officer spotted a stolen car near 36th and Sheridan.
During the chase the car drove over two separate spike strips which flattened two tires on the right side. The video shows the heat generated by the shredded tires and the rims rolling on the pavement. It also shows pieces of hot rubber flying off the tires.
