N-Vision Optics Issues Statement On Homeland Security Grants For Law Enforcement Officers Requiring Night Vision

Grant Money May Enable Many U.S. Law Enforcement Officials to Purchase Much Needed Night Vision and Thermal Imaging Devices

Burlington, MA —N-Vision Optics, maker of the award-winning GT-14 monocular and the GT-22 night vision rifle sight, issued the following statement today regarding grant money for many U.S. law enforcement officials from the Department of Homeland Security:

“Since 9/11 virtually all members of the Law Enforcement community are now also soldiers in the War on Terrorism.  Even the more traditionally peaceful jobs such as rural border control, park rangers, and Bureau of Land Management scouts are feeling the need for the latest technology and skills to deal with the unexpected.

“FBI data for Law Enforcement officers killed in the line-of-duty reveals that between 1995 and 2004 over 65% of the deaths occurred between 8PM and 8AM.  Combined with this data, the increased emphasis on homeland security and the increased pressure on law enforcement officers, the need for low light technology and training for law enforcement officers has developed into a high priority and very big business.

“We at N-Vision Optics are pleased to see that, by making this grant money available, the Department of Homeland Security is recognizing the increasing importance of night vision and thermal imaging devices in helping to keep Law Enforcement officers safe while ensuring public safety and security of this country.”

Law Enforcement officials interested in finding out more about N-Vision products that may qualify for purchase with grant money from the Department of Homeland Security can reference “Homeland Security” at www.nvisionoptics.com or contact N-Vision Optics at 781-505-8360.
