Genetec’s Continued Expansion Leads to the Employment of New Chief Talent Officer

Saint-Laurent, Canada, November 18, 2008 — Genetec is proud to announce the recent employment of Claude Marier as Genetec’s Chief Talent Officer (CTO), adding yet another member to the ever-growing Genetec team. As of November 3, 2008, Mr. Marier’s primary mandate is to develop and put in place a strategic HR plan that will aim to attract, develop, engage, reward and retain the people that Genetec needs to achieve its growth objectives.

With a B.A. in Economics from Université de Montréal and a Master of Commerce (specialization in human resources) from HEC Montréal, Mr. Marier has extensive skills in strategic HR management, notably in aligning HR strategy, policies, programs and processes with organizations’ business plans. Prior to joining Genetec, Mr. Marier worked with international organizations where effective talent management was key to the success of the organization, most recently as a Senior Human Resource Consultant for SECOR, a leading international strategic management consulting firm with major offices in Montreal, New York, Paris and Toronto.

Other positions that Mr. Marier has held include Corporate Director of HR Strategy at Rexel S.A.’s Paris head office, Corporate Vice-President of HR at Westburne Inc., Corporate Vice-President of HR at Provigo Inc., amongst many other high-level managerial positions. Mr. Marier also teaches HR management at HEC Montreal.

“I am excited to be a part of the Genetec Team who strongly believes that its employees are one of the most important factors in driving innovative solutions to its customers,” says Mr. Claude Marier. “They have already developed a very unique organizational culture which fosters a positive employee experience and I am looking forward to using my professional experience to enhance what has already been instilled throughout the organization.”

Voted for the third year in a row as one of Montreal’s Top 15 Employers, Genetec has a corporate culture that encourages leadership and personal development. As Genetec continues to pursue its aggressive growth strategy through continued international expansion, Mr. Marier’s contribution to the Genetec team could not have come at a better point in time.

“Unlike having a Human Resource Department, as do other more traditional organizations, Genetec has a Talent Management Department,” states Mr. Pierre Racz, CEO at Genetec. “This reflects our spirit, forward-thinking culture and how we approach our team’s development. Prof. Marier’s contribution as our new Chief Talent Officer emphasizes how Genetec is different in all aspects of our business, driving leadership and innovation even in the recruitment and the personal growth of our talented innovators.”
