IES Interactive Training Announces New Wireless “Un-tethered Instructor” Option forMILO Range PRO use-of-force Training Simulators

Finally frees the simulation system instructor from having to be tied to the instructor’s computer station during scenario based training

Ann Arbor, Mich.—IES Interactive Training has introduced a unique solution to the most common dilemma in simulation training: limited instructor resources. Trainers are typically on their own in a simulation based training environment and are constantly torn between effective student observation and system operation while providing a quality learning experience.

The solution is the IES “Un tethered Instructor”, and includes a small hand-held wireless PDA or tablet PC that instructors utilize to run scenario-based training sessions.

“We noticed as we walked around a trade-show last year that all of the simulation system vendor demonstrations required a dedicated person at the operator’s station to run the sessions”, stated Robert McCue, IES Business Development Director. “We realized that many law enforcement agencies are faced with this same limitation due to time, budget and manpower restrictions; with only one person available to operate the system while simultaneously training, coaching, observing and debriefing a trainee, that sitting behind a desk was clearly a distraction to the quality of the training.”

This innovation is the industry’s first to enable instructors to get out from behind the operator’s desk and be near the trainees while they make important force-option and deadly force decisions.

“All IES MILO Range and MILO Range PRO systems can easily add this capability to their systems through a simple plug and play installation, thanks to the system’s modular design and standard’s based technologies.” said Jason Lamons, IES Director of Operations. “This enables the system operator to interact with and coach trainees when and where needed, while allowing the instructor to switch back and forth between the wireless interface and the instructor control station freely.”

This innovation is available on all IES MILO Range simulation training systems, and exclusively from IES Interactive Training.

To add this capability to your IES MILO Range system, or to inquire about trading-in or upgrading your current simulator, regardless of brand, call IES Interactive Training for more details and information.
