Texas company brings HD video to local squads

WatchGuard Video's DV-1 records in sharp, widescreen format

ALLEN, Texas - When it comes to police dash cam video, clarity is everything. A clear view of a license plate or field sobriety test can mean the world to law enforcement agencies seeking prosecutions using video evidence.

To help bring things into sharper focus, an Allen company has introduced a high-definition dash cam – a first for the industry. The product is known as the 4RE, and police departments in Frisco and Celina have been getting a test-drive of the cutting-edge camera since last year.
