TOMAH, Wisc. - Officers have been cleared in the fatal shooting of a suspect during a traffic stop on April 22. The Monroe County District Attorney determined officers acted with "tremendous courage" in using appropriate force to kill Seth McCloskey, 28.

The intense sequence was captured on dashcam, clearly showing McCloskey exit his vehicle and begin firing on officers. After firing, he returned to his vehicle to attempt an escape, but was shot and killed by officers.

Officer Josh Kenworthy was shot in the foot by McCloskey, losing part of a toe in the process. According to the LaCrosse Tribune, Kenworthy was unaware he'd been shot until the gunfight had concluded and he noticed an exit hole in his right boot. He should be able to return to work in 12 weeks.

According to the Chicago Tribune, McCloskey may be linked to at least 10 random shootings in Wisconsin and Illinois. His red truck, seen in the video, matches one that witnesses have placed at recent drive-by shootings.
