Digital Safety Technologies Releases Version 2.1M2 Mobile Digital Video

Digital Safety Technologies Releases Version 2.1M2 Mobile Digital Video

Digital Safety Technologies, a manufacturer of Digital Video solutions for Public Safety, is now shipping DP3 Version 2.1M2. The product release includes a new streamlined DVD burning system that enables departments to work smarter and more efficiently with existing resources.

The DP3 “M2” release features the Media Authoring Server (MAS). The MAS provides centralized processing of DVD authoring jobs. This benefits all of the users on the network who author DVDs because the MAS does the heavy lifting, preventing their local PCs from getting bogged down during the disc authoring process. Finally users have a way to use their PCs productively instead of waiting idly by for the job to finish.  The disc authoring process itself is a snap for users, who can create validated, professional-looking evidence with a few clicks of a mouse. The Web-based authoring tools don’t require an install, which saves time for System Administrators.

Other M2 changes from DST include:

• The ability for a user to burn a DVD locally on their PC and with fewer steps.
• A new feature that automatically prompts the officer for classification input at the end of each recording.
• A new Video Evidence Reviewer (VER) “search by ticket number” feature.
• Expanded Off-Network (USB) Docking now supported through the DVR’s USB port.
• Administrator ability to enable and disable Pre-Record Audio Mute (PEAM).
• Wireless docking through a laptop computer.
• A new incident retention rule to handle unclassified incidents.
• Support for Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) configurations in addition to WPA-PSK.

According to company president Roger Lucas, “This product release reflects our commitment to delivering features that are highly valued by our customers.  Our team is committed to responding to the needs of the market, and we will continue providing reliable, high quality solutions with plenty of headroom to support future advances in technology.”
