City of Newark Receives New Mobile Command Center
The City of Newark Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security chose a Peterbilt 348 as the platform for their new mobile command center. A powerful Paccar PX-8 330 hp engine and Allison 3000 EVS transmission are complemented by a heavy duty suspension and air brakes. This massive emergency response vehicle features four slide outs that dramatically increase interior space. The front communications center features six workstations. The rear meeting area has plenty of seating at the conference table with bench seats at the sides. One option that sets this apart from other command centers is the exterior access doors to service the network and electronics racks. A weatherproof exterior workstation features a 46" HDTV, AC/DC outlets, phone, data ports and HDMI connections.
