'Terrifying' police recruitment video goes viral

Two police recruitment videos are creating a buzz for the way they portray their cities

By PoliceOne Staff

A 2008 recruitment video for the Newport Beach Police Department recently went viral for portraying the city as "terrifying," OC Weekly reports

Viewers compared the clip to a police recruitment video from Decatur, Ga., which the Daily Pilot said was "less gritty" than the Newport video.

Some comments left on the videos — undoubtedly written by civilians — scoffed that Newport came across as "militarized" and Decatur as "touchy-feely."

What do you think of the videos?
