Police say new iPhone maps threaten lives

An inaccuracy is leaving Australians stranded without water in the outback

By PoliceOne Staff

VICTORIA, Australia — Police in Australia have issued a warning over a "life-threatening" iPhone map that inaccurately places a town  in the outback — more than 40 miles away from its actual location.

Officers have rescued at least four people who were stranded in Murray Sunset National Park without water or help instead of their intended destination of Mildura, Victoria.
