Facial Composites and Video Analysis

Video surveillance is a critical requirement for law enforcement, security, and many commercial industries. The average American is captured on video eight times per day. But making the most out of this medium requires the ability to capture, view, and enhance video footage to extract evidence necessary to identify, apprehend and convict law breakers.

Two technologies – Video Analyst System and FACES 4.0 – have now been integrated to provide improved video evidence.

Video Analyst System is a state-of-the-art workstation with tools to capture, analyze, enhance and edit all major video formats without altering underlying footage. Built on the familiar Microsoft Windows operating system and Adobe Premiere video editing software, the system is easy to learn and use. It is the only video analysis product to incorporate NASA-developed Video Image Stabilization and Registration (VISAR) technology.

FACES is a leading composite technology used by thousands of police agencies worldwide. By including FACES in all Video Analyst System 210 and 410 models, users are able to capture and enhance video, and then combine the resulting images with other information such as eyewitness accounts to create a facial composite. The composite can then be distributed via e-mail or fax.
