National Police Week recognizes the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement and pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have sacrificed their lives for the safety and protection of others. PoliceOne is working with the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) to bring you updated coverage of National Police Week 2009. The NLEOMF's mission is to generate public support for the law enforcement profession by commemorating the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers. The organization also sponsors the annual Candlelight Vigil, where the names of 387 fallen officers will be formally dedicated on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.
