OpTac International Tactical Command Conference Concluded with Resounding Success

The OpTac International Tactical Command Conference concluded with resounding success. Attended by commanders from across the United States and Canada, the Conference provided recommended tactics for hostage rescue and high-risk entries, along with critical incident debriefings of strategic importance.

OpTac International is pleased to announce our Civil Disturbance Instructor Program will be held October 14-16, 2008, in Sterling Heights/Detroit, Michigan. Preparing officers and supervisors to manage civil disturbance incidents have enormous safety consequences, as well as public relations ramifications. This program is designed to provide officers and supervisors with guidelines for teaching an appropriate response to these types of incidents. Instruction addresses operational planning, tactical formations, liability concerns, crowd disbursement, intelligence gathering, managing the media, and officer safety considerations. An emphasis is placed on instructional techniques to prepare officers and supervisors for an improved and unified response to civil disturbances.

Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certification and use of 302 Funds for Michigan law enforcement agencies is pending final approval.
