Glendale AZ Police & Fire to Use Revolutionary New T3 Personal Patrol Vehicles at American Idol Auditions
Phoenix based AEP, the largest emergency vehicle upfitter in the southwest, is providing the Glendale, Arizona Police and Fire Departments with three new T3 Personal Patrol Vehicles to use at the American Idol Auditions at the Glendale Jobbing.com Arena this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
A crowd of as many as 20,000 American Idol hopefuls is expected at the auditions for the Fox TV mega-hit show. The T3s will be in action from 5AM tomorrow through the end of the main audition event on Friday.
The unique 3-wheel configuration of the T3 provides a highly maneuverable, stable raised mobile platform that allows officers to see above crowds. It also creates a command presence while triggering a “wow” curiosity reaction from the public to the patrol vehicle's futuristic hi-tech design.
The 0 emission-environmentally friendly electric drive provides a top speed of 20MPH allowing officers to pursue at a speed that can out pace any subject on foot. Emergency lighting assists the T3 in clearing a path through crowds.
Glendale, Police and Fire Departments are preparing for this weeks American Idol event by using the new T3 Personal Patrol Vehicles to patrol downtown Glendale.
“We’ve been using the T3s to patrol a beat we normally do on foot,“ said Glendale Officer Garry Soderlund, “The T3s allow us to patrol a much wider area in the same time than when we’re walking. They also reduce fatigue, especially during our hot summer weather.”
In addition to Glendale AEP has provided T3 Personal Patrol Vehicles to various Arizona police and fire departments including Scottsdale, Tempe, Prescott and Sedona. Four T3s were recently shipped to Colorado State University for campus patrol.
