OpTac International Offers New Course, Tactical Emergency Medical Response
OpTac International, Inc. is dedicated to law enforcement and military professionals worldwide. Our Curriculum is the leading educational resource for commanders, team leaders, SWAT, counter-terrorist, and special operations personnel. We are pleased to announce our newest course, the OpTac International Tactical Emergency Medical Response Program. This program will be held February 23-27, 2009, in Largo, Maryland.
Surviving a critical injury on a tactical operation is dependent on the life-saving skills of SWAT officers and tactical medical personnel. The Tactical Emergency Medical Response Program is designed to prepare medics, SWAT operators, and military personnel with medical skills and tactics for high-risk operations (This program is also open to fire/rescue and hospital personnel with law enforcement sponsorship). From basic combat trauma life-saving skills to emergency entry techniques, attendees will benefit from real-life applications.
Classes include: tactical team preventative medicine, small-group practical skill sessions with tourniquets, airway management, management of specific casualty scenarios, emergency room entries, equipment selection, and tactical care in an urban combat environment. Pre- and post-training tests are administered to provide a quantitative measure of training effectiveness and to determine program certifications. All attendees successfully completing this program will receive International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) certification. Certified Paramedics and EMTs successfully completing this program will also receive Emergency Medical Technician-Tactical (EMT-T) certification.
