Armor Products Perform to Levels Required by NIJ Certifications

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., PRNewswire/FirstCall - Armor Holdings, Inc. issued the following statement in response to a class action suit reportedly filed in the State of Florida by a group of attorneys on behalf of the National Association of Police Organizations (NAPO).

"At this time, Armor Holdings has not received a copy of any class action lawsuit reportedly filed in the State of Florida and therefore, we are unable to address any specific claims or allegations asserted. However, all bullet-resistant vests manufactured by Armor Holdings are extensively tested, meet all certification requirements promulgated by the National Institute of Justice, and adhere to all applicable standards. We have no knowledge that any of our products have ever failed to perform at the levels required by their certifications. Rather, our products have helped protect and preserve the lives of law enforcement officers throughout the country. The National Institute of Justice continues to encourage law enforcement officers to wear body armor, in light of the fact that 'the lives of more than 2,700 law enforcement officers have been saved by the use of bullet-resistant body armor over the past 30 years.'
